When Rest Became Suspicious is for the woman who has been praised for how much she can carry — and quietly wondered who she was before the world taught her to hurry.

After nearly a decade in the financial industry, broken relationships, and years of carrying responsibilities alone, Adorned Itiya came to the end of her own strength. She knew she needed rest. But more than that, she needed to know who she was before the world taught her to hurry.
Her answer began with the Most High — the One who fashioned her, and the only One who truly knew what she needed. With Scripture, ancient wisdom, lived experience, and a feminine eye toward restoration, she invites women to reconsider everything they have been taught about productivity, sacrifice, and availability.
This is a remembrance for women who have spent too much of their lives pouring themselves into people, relationships, workplaces, and expectations that never intended to pour back into them.

Women returning to themselves
A short film for the woman who has been praised for how much she can carry.
“A mirror for my soul. Itiya names a fatigue I did not even know I was carrying, and then hands you Scripture instead of a to-do list.”
“Ancient wisdom met with a modern understanding of burnout. I have bought five copies for the women in my life.”
“This isn't just a book, it's a permission slip to exist without explanation. Essential reading for every woman who has been praised for how much she can carry.”
“I expected another productivity detox. What I found was a return to the Most High, and to myself.”
“I read the first chapter and finally exhaled. Truly a gift.”
“Our women's group read one chapter a week. It undid a decade of guilt about slowing down.”

Adorned Itiya is a first-time authoress, mother, and woman who discovered that sometimes the most radical thing a woman can do is to stop.
Nearly a decade in the financial industry, broken relationships, years of carrying responsibilities alone, and the slow unraveling that comes with living beyond your own limits left her burnt out and searching for something deeper than another strategy for survival.
Her answer began with the Most High. When Rest Became Suspicious is the fruit of that return — written for women who have poured themselves out for people and expectations that were never going to pour back.
“Our time is sacred. And it is time to take it back.”
Inside the Book · Chapter One
“A woman who rests is not falling behind. She may finally be returning to herself.”
There was a season when I could not sit down without feeling watched. Not by anyone in the room — the room was usually empty — but by something older, something that had learned to measure my worth in output.
Rest had become suspicious. Stillness had to be earned, justified, scheduled around everyone else's needs and then apologised for. And so I kept moving, and the moving kept costing me, until there was very little of me left to spend.
What follows is not a strategy. It is a remembrance of rhythms that were given to us long before productivity was invented…
